LSilmakuvalaiturissaBaltic Line liner service is part of the company Nor Lines, which operates in Baltic Sea and the North Sea with 10 cargo vessels. In addition, Nor Lines operates all cargo transported by Hurtigruten, the Norweigan coastal express service. Nor Lines have a wide range of terminal and inland distribution service all over the coastline from Fredrikstad to Kirkenes.

The primary loading ports for Norway at the Baltic Sea are Turku in Finland,  Paldiski in Estonia, Swinoujscie in Poland and Fredericia in Denmark. Furthermore other ports at the area can be included into the loop.

Link-Star-deck-cargoBaltic Line vessels offer multiple handling methods for rolling cargo and break bulk. Via side ports line can take any cargo which can be handled with forklifts such as pallets, big bags or bundles/packages/cases. Furthermore all vessels have normal hatches for cargo requiring crane handling.

With new vessels mv Link Star & Mini Star the Line introduces also the roro possibility i.e. wheeled/tracked machines and trucks & lowloaders can be loaded/discharged by driving via stern ramp, line will also have fleet of heavy mafis for project cargoes.

Vessels and equipment

The Baltic Line service from Finland and the Baltic States to Poland, Denmark and Norway is operated with two multipurpose ro/ro sideport sister vessels mv Mini Star and mv Link Star.

Nor Lines' other vessels operate between ports in the Baltic Sea & North Sea area and the Norwegian coast - the vessels make 600 port calls in 70 different ports every week! Nor Lines also manages cargo shipments in Hurtigruten vessels.

New vessel for Baltic Line

Baltic Line has signed a long term TC-agreement with Prima Shipping for mv Baltic Madonna.

Vessel will replace mv Link Star in January 2017.

Freight for­war­ding is a field of eco­no­mic ac­ti­vi­ty that is not sub­ject to pro­per uni­form le­gis­la­tion. This is why the Nor­dic count­ries ha­ve pul­led to­get­her to de­ve­lop stan­dard con­di­tions; the Ge­ne­ral Con­di­tions of the Nor­dic As­so­cia­tion of Freight For­war­ders. The the ne­west ver­sion is known as NSAB 2015 and it was pub­lis­hed on 29 Oct 2015.

The NSAB con­di­tions, the use of which is re­la­ti­ve­ly well es­tab­lis­hed in the de­li­ve­ry sec­tor, de­fi­ne the rights and ob­li­ga­tions of the for­war­ders and cont­rac­tors. The con­di­tions al­so de­fi­ne the res­pon­si­bi­li­ties of the for­war­ders ac­cor­ding to va­rious trans­port con­ven­tions and re­gu­la­tions.
